AMCA – HIP HOP Incubator

The Oriental region of Morocco has an increasing young urban artist scene with real opportunities for self-entrepreneurship in the hip-hop sector at the regional and national level. However, the lack of professional structures to support this dynamic means that young artists are facing increasing difficulties in the ideation, learning, and start-up phases of their projects, preventing them from launching a career and making a living from their artistic products. “AMCA – HIP HOP Incubator” is a continuation of a successful pilot project on promoting economic autonomy for young artists, addressing this challenge. The project’s main objective is to support socio-economic inclusion through a cultural entrepreneurship incubation mechanism. It strengthens the technical and artistic capacities of young artists/technicians by developing appropriate training and set up the first incubator for young cultural entrepreneurs dedicated to hip-hop-related professions in Oujda. The incubator targets rappers, producers, dancers, DJs and beatmakers, managers and directors as well as audio-visual studio technicians. The young people taking part in the incubation project have access to the necessary means and tools to realize their projects (home studio, shows, showcases, show tours, residencies, mini albums, mixtapes, labels, etc.). Particular attention is paid to the economic viability and artistic direction of the incubated projects (coworking session with experts, self-production, bootcamp, pitch preparation, marketing, communication).
