«Ana Sawti» – Advancing community choirs for children and adolescents

In continuation of the first phase of «Ana Sawti», «Tajalla for Music and Arts» is working with community-based partner organisations in five governorates to consolidate community choirs for children and adolescents as well as introduce new ones.

Up to 155 children and adolescents who up to now have only had limited access to performing arts activities, can engage in regular singing and music lessons. This supports them in the development of important life skills such as self-confidence, self-expression skills, mutual respect and teamwork. As the choirs focus on preserving and reviving traditional songs, their singing also helps to build a sense of identity among the young artists and their communities.

To ensure choirs continue to function and make an impact after the project has ended, Tajalla and the local hosting organisations are assisted in strengthening their institutional development and developing fundraising skills.
