Arts and culture for development and social change

The project uses arts and culture to empower youth in marginalised areas of southern Lebanon. 240 young people from Tyre and Nabatieh are trained in film / photography, theatre and drawing / painting. At the end of each 3-month training cycle, students and teachers collaborate to organise a small festival where students can display their work to their friends, families and the wider community. Through the training and the process of organising the festivals, students gain essential life skills such as critical thinking, creativity and cooperation. To accommodate the activities and ensure community accessibility, one space in each city is renovated and set up to serve as a semi-public and innovative venue for the personal development and self-expression of local youth.
