Basita.live

Stemming from the challenges faced by young performing artists in the MENA region and fuelled even more by COVID-19; Bassita.Live addresses long-standing needs for capacity building and challenges to income imposed by lockdowns and restrictions on travel. 20 mid-level performing arts groups in Egypt and other MENA countries receive support in the form of fellowship programmes aimed at enhancing their professional skills and economic viability. In parallel, Basita.Live, a virtual platform, displays creative content from the MENA region to connect those young artists with a vast audience and give them a chance to generate income on their work. In so doing, both individual needs and the enabling environment for those young people are addressed.
