Cooperation among Marginalised Youth

The Egypt Youth Association (Shabab Masr), a local not-for-profit organisation in Fayoum, is creating an economic model to promote cooperation and solidarity among marginalised youth. This is accomplished by organising groups of youth to form collective production units for microbusinesses such as pottery and aromatic plants. Throughout, the project relies on collective skills. Shabab Masr provides vocational training and financial and legal support to the beneficiaries to assist them in the establishment and operation of the production units. In turn, the production units aspire to create social and economic spaces that help to bring positive change in the lives of the beneficiaries.
