Crowdcrafting as a contribution to labour market integration

An innovative concept for the qualification of students has been developed at the University of Applied Sciences St. Gallen. The concept is based on real-life issues that are defined by companies and conveyed to teams of students. The solutions subsequently developed in this process of crowdcrafting are judged according to specific standards and assist in the qualification of team members. As a general rule, the companies go on to implement the best solution. In this way, the participants become qualified for the job market on the basis of actual cases.
The pilot project is now supported by Drosos Foundation and is intended to further develop this form of crowdcrafting, which helps young adults experiencing some form of disadvantage (such as long-term unemployment or a disability) to improve their qualifications for the job market.
