Entrepreneurs for rural regions

Young entrepreneurial people represent an opportunity for the development of rural areas in the eastern parts of Germany. The partner organisation’s «Lokalhelden Gründerwerkstätten» help young entrepreneurs take advantage of opportunities to set up their own businesses. In the process, participants combine their entrepreneurial activities with the creation of added value for the region. So their companies’ success can be measured not only by the economic result, but also by developments in the local community.
During the three-year course, professionals provide advice for those accepted into the project, from the development of their idea to the launch of a start-up. While some modules are conducted face-to-face, the interactive modules are primarily provided online.
To increase the chances that the new business models will be successful, the young entrepreneurs receive advice and coaching from experts. From the outset, extensive information relevant for start-ups is provided in a series of themed weekend seminars. The project builds local network contacts and support structures. The experience is rounded off with consultations and mentoring partnerships that are tailored to the needs of rural regions.
