Heldenmacher in schools

The Heldenmacher are qualified trainers whose aim is to help young people discover their talent and potential. They are able to relate personally to youth culture and act as role models, providing support for young people over the course of one year. In doing so, the Heldenmacher complement the curriculum offered in state schools. Their work enhances the students’ ability to express themselves and increases their self-esteem and self-efficacy. 1,200 young people can participate in the programme each year.
Using forms of expression from youth culture such as circus arts, hip-hop and urban arts, the groups develop productions and stage performances. In addition to the school courses, the Heldenmacher offer project days that reach 6,000 young people and inspire them to discover their own skills and develop them independently. In order to secure the work with young people on an ongoing basis, the partner is continuing to develop its range of events and activities. In this context, local businesses and institutions are being added to the customer base and the programme is being scaled up to include another federal state of Germany in an attempt to establish a sustainable market presence.
