The successful pilot project has been upscaled! Three more “Fabmobils” with digital educational offers will be set up in economically underdeveloped rural areas in eastern Germany. The local “Fabmobil” labs are sustainable venues offering independently designed, future-oriented digital education programmes teaching young people how to use digital technology in applications they themselves have defined. The participating institutions provide the premises and personnel assistance and in turn, the art and design lab “Fabmobil” helps with the setting up and establishment of the lab in the local community through basic technical equipment and professional support. Together with the active young people, an individual concept for use is developed for each “Fabmobil” lab and a permanent digital education offer is set up in rural areas.
