Power to Disabled Youth

Young people with disabilities face multiple barriers in accessing decent employment opportunities whether they are due to misperceptions about their capacities and discrimination driven by social stigma, or due to lack of professional and personal capabilities. «Ebtessama», a local non-governmental organization, is negotiating inclusive job opportunities within the private sector through awareness-raising and and capacity-building on the side of employers. In parallel to these activities, they provide professional and life skills assistance as well as rehabilitation to 300 youth with disabilities. This individualized and tailored support is combined with on the job training ensures that the youth placed in jobs can sustain their employment over the longer term.
