Socio-Occupational Integration of Young People in Professions Relating to Heritage Restoration

This project introduces a new approach to occupational integration, basing itself on professions relating to heritage conservation. It allows for the occupational integration of 200 young people from the city of Tetouan and the surrounding region in professions relating to the conservation of cultural heritage buildings. The young people will take part in a training programme that is both theoretical (traditional restoration techniques, natural raw materials, etc.) as well as practical (restoration of “Dar Kahtib”) and comprises seven professions relating to heritage restoration (masonry, ironwork, carpentry, plastering, electrical work, plumbing and traditional Zellij). Once the training is completed, 30 young people will also be selected to receive guidance and support in setting up their individual or group entrepreneurial project.
