Start Up Skills

Students in northern Lebanon graduate from institutions of higher education into a challenging labour market with few prospects. The number of young, educated people leaving the region is correspondingly high. The Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club is a partner organisation that promotes an entrepreneurial culture among young people and thus counteracts the “brain drain” in the region. The project addresses the skills gap between graduates looking for jobs in the innovation sector and the market needs of start-ups and small businesses. 600 university graduates will receive technical and personal training and 200 will be matched with start-ups in northern Lebanon through an apprenticeship programme to kick-start their professional life. In addition, an innovation lab and an online platform will be set up to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing among young people. The project strengthens the interest and participation of young graduates in entrepreneurial endeavours through an annual forum and collaboration with 6 universities.
