Startlab: First Incubator for new generation Second Chance Centers

The aim of this project is to promote the socio-economic development of 200 vulnerable young people from the second chance schools (non-formal education programme targeting young people who dropped out of school) through the creation and development of small businesses.

An incubation program helps the young people to develop their technical and personal capacities and put their business ideas into action. The small businesses created by the youth are supported to access financing through managerial training, the mobilization of a mentors’ network and the involvement of various public and private investment funds. The partner also develops a new concept of social and solidarity micro franchise to help young people who wish to create their independent activity but who have no idea, do not wish to start alone and who have limited means.

This project strengthens the entrepreneurial part of the education delivered in the second chance schools that are playing a vital role in addressing educational inequality and social exclusion. By providing students with entrepreneurship skills, the project is filling a gap in the system and supporting economic empowerment and self-sufficiency for individuals and communities.
