Youth Digital Empowerment

Cairo, Alexandria and Aswan governorates acquire digitally equipped community spaces where young artists, educators, and children develop skills. Working collectively on group projects through summer schools and year-long workshops, young people use visual expression, sound, music, video and computing as tools for community engagement. Every summer, Arab Digital Expression Foundation, the local partner, engages young people with their peers from other Arab countries through a unique multi-media 2 week camp. Over the coming years, around 200 professional digital expression artists, educators and open source software developers, will work with disadvantaged children and young people to help them become self-resilient, value driven and engaged community members. Five cultural spaces will independently carry out cultural artistic activities.
