«Zawya»

The project centres on the socio-economic development of Zawya, a district in Marrakech that is struggling despite its strategic position in the  city.

Because it takes more than just one activity to help a district thrive, this project uses a hybrid approach. On the one hand, it will help 150 children and adolescents develop interdisciplinary and creative skills through  art, crafts, photography and video workshops, as well as encourage them to participate in debates on subjects that concern them. On the other hand, 45 young people will benefit from gaining a qualification, plus support in securing employment. With regards to the actual district, venues where meetings and debates can be held, such as debate cafés, will be set up, along with guided tours and other income-generating activities for young people.
